Every year, NDSS reminds the world in a big way about the gifts that people with Down syndrome bring to their communities through a special video presentation on the 40-foot NBC Astrovision screen in the heart of the Times Square.
This special event is made possible by the generosity of the Panasonic, which donates 40 minutes of airtime on its world-famous screen for the NDSS broadcast. The showing takes place each year on the morning of the New York City Buddy Walk and is one of the highlights of National Down Syndrome Awareness Month.
NDSS receives thousands of photo submissions for the Times Square Video Contest. Because the Buddy Walk promotes acceptance and inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome, the winning photographs feature children, teens and adults with Down syndrome working, playing and learning with friends and family
Nash and his buddy Andrew's picture was chosen to be shown on the Big Screen at Times Square for the NDSS Buddy Walk!

Sydney and her "boyfriend" Keegan were also chosen, we went last year. Trying for this year if we do go I'll be sure to take a pic of Nash on the big screen, its an awesome experience.

Just remember to take a picture, and hey, if you RSVP to the Huffman house before Sept 4 (MY BIRTHDAY) you get the guest bedroom for the IRL Oct 13 weekend. But it will expire if I don't hear from you, or in the alternative, receive money.
Just a visitor who happened upon this site and I want to say how absolutely adorable Nash is. I don't always get all gushy every time I see a photo of a little kid, but your kid has me smiling nonstop. What a glow in his smile! I'm in NYC so if I make it to Times Square, I'll definitely check it out.

That picture with Nash in the pumpkin is my all time favorite. Of course we know what happened when I tried to reproduce it with Parker......sigh.....lol!
