Gifts : Mothers Reflect on How Children with Down Syndrome Enrich Their Lives

The Gifts Outreach program provides complimentary copies of Gifts to organizations which serve parents facing a new diagnosis of Down syndrome for their child, either prenatally or postnatally. We believe that the stories in the book provide a vital companionship and support for such parents.

A shout out for prayers

a good friend, mom, and just wonderful person, Annette, has been told that the chemo she has been having as treatment for her rare cancer in her lung, synovial sarcoma, is no longer working. The tumor is growing. She was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma in February 2006 and started chemotherapy in March. She is a strong woman, as she has already battled cancer before - in 1984, when she had Hodgkin's lymphoma and went through 8 months of chemo at that time.

Please go by, give her a hug, and say a prayer. We all need her to be around for a VERY long time, most of all, her two boys need her. And if you happen to hit this blog by Googling Synovial Sarcoma and know of a good trial, please share.

love you Annette, and can't wait to see you to give you a big hug this weekend!
