Gifts: How Children with Down syndrome have Enriched Our Lives
Few parents expect or desire to raise a child with Down syndrome. Yet many who travel this path discover rich, unexpected rewards along the way. In this candid and poignant collection of personal stories, sixty-three mothers describe the gifts of respect, strength, delight, perspective, and love which their child with Down syndrome has brought into their lives. Their diverse experiences point to a common truth: the life of a child with Down syndrome is something to celebrate. The book is a 6x9 softcover with 324 pages and 67 b/w photographs. The retail price is $18.99.
It now available for preorder on Amazon.com. Please use the link at (Purchase Gifts ) to place your order instead of directly ordering through Amazon.com because an 8% royalty from book sales through the Gifts website will be used to fund the Gifts Outreach program, which will purchase copies of the book for donation to parents through local DS organizations (including the Indiana Down Syndrome Foundation) nationwide and in Canada. Every two copies sold will enable the outreach program to purchase a copy of the book for donation.
As many of you know, I am one of the 63 contributors to the Gifts book, with a story about Nash and Jeff and a segment of our experience having a child with Down syndrome. I haven't gotten a copy of the book yet as all the contributors to Gifts will receive their books later due to the bulk order. I can't wait to get a copy!
Shipping is 3-5 days right now and please pass this information on.

I wanted to let those of you that have ordered already that Booksurge has had some glitches, and the photo on the cover, along with the B & W photos in the back of the book might be defective. If so let me know and I will direct you to the procedures for getting a new book. Yeah, that sucks, but we have an agent now and maybe a new publisher- Woodbine is interested!!
