Take the pledge........

So many, even at my workplace at the Attorney General's office, use the word "retarded" in slang context. If adults who are parents continue to use the word in a slang context, meaning "stupid", you know their children use it. My son Nash is anything BUT stupid, but he does have cognitive delays, which many refer to as mental retardation. Hearing the use of "retard" or "retarded" in slang feels like a punch in the stomach to me; can you imagine how it feels to one who has cognitive delays?

So take the pledge and pass it on....... go to WORDS MATTER

thank you, and my son thanks you too.
